CNC is a machining process in which a pre-programmed software feeds directions to tools and machinery to create products. Because CNC machining is so effective, it’s used in a range of industries and processes. CNC can control grinders, lathes, mills, and more. CNC plastic machining allows three dimensional cutting tasks to be done in a single set of prompts. For that reason, it’s preferred for more complex parts. Manual machining requires that an operator be there to guide the machine. With CNC plastic machining, there is no longer the need for the extra labor; it can complete tasks automatically.
Our team of expert plastic CNC machinists are skilled at creating parts that fit tight tolerances and are consistently produced over high volumes.
Our CNC plastic machining service and routing department is cost-effective, and no job is too big or too small. The CNC plastic milling we offer at Kaierwo ensures high-speed automated routing of all types of plastics, and we can cut and manufacture plastics to meet any design requirements – from simple cuts to complex shapes, dual head and single head machines cut nested parts very efficiently. During prototype or low-volume production, we don’t require molds with plastic machining. This process allows the designers to create parts without molds, unlike other methods. The process is computer-controlled and only requires a CAD file with the design.

Parts can be machined directly from plastic sheet or plastic rod, so it’s easy for the engineering team to make modifications to the design during the production phase with no need to make any new tooling, and there is little cost involved in upgrading the parts.
Time CNC machines are computer controlled and can be kept running 24/7 for optimum efficiency, quality, and process control throughout the production process, from programming to machining to finishing.
A variety of engineering-grade plastics are common structural materials for machined parts and products due to their excellent properties, including superior strength-to-weight ratios, excellent insulation properties, greater corrosion, chemical and wear resistance, ability to withstand high temperatures, and more.
Why Choose CNC Plastic Over 3D Printing
When designing parts using plastic materials such as PVC, POM, PEI, or PEEK, they can’t be printed using 3D processes. There are no reliable and affordable printing formulations of these plastics. But with plastic machining, you can design any type of plastic with ease according to the customer specifications.
3D printed specialty materials are typically more expensive and manufacturing costs are priced based on the amount of material used, which means larger parts or larger quantities of parts cost more, while CNC plastic is a more convenient and cost effective process.
3D printing processes leave a layer of marks on the plastic parts that can be difficult to remove. This is not suitable when creating concept models or functional prototypes that need a high-quality surface finish. We use milling processes to ensure that the part has a quality finish and is ready for use.
Plastic CNC machining offers greater dimensional accuracy, and 5-axis CNC milling machines can help you tackle the most difficult manufacturing challenges by providing high precision machining of more complex parts.
01
Cost Efficient
As is well known, the cost of creating molds is expensive. However,Plastic Machining can make parts without molds or supporting structures,it can largely reduce the cost of production.
02
Personalized Design
Plastic Machining is easy to change color, and can be hollow, and can achieve the effect of pattern, wood, stone and metal on the surface treatment of products, to meet the personalized needs of consumers.
03
High Quality
Rapid Tooling allows you to use the actual production grades of material. You can use Rapid Tooling to fabricate custom mold quickly. You can then produce as many prototypes from this mold as you can, creating parts with different material
We stock a variety of thermoplastic materials for machined prototypes and production parts.
We can generate instant machining quotes for 50+ plastics and metals.

Surface finishes
Although machined plastics are not as amenable to surface finishing procedures as machined metals, there are still several options for altering and improving the surface appearance of a plastic part. All machinable plastics can be finished with a selection of finishes such as basic smoothing or bead blasting, while certain plastics can be treated with high-gloss polishing, brushing, painting, chroming or metallizing, allowing for a diverse range of finishes across different plastic machined parts. Kaierwo can guide you to the right surface finish if you are unsure.
Applications of Plastic CNC machining:
